Once the rules of the logic puzzle are understood, we can start solving for the locations of the stations, starting with the 0 and 3. We will hit two possible solutions, but one of them uses 6 trains and the (correct) one which uses 5.

There was a subway system in my dreams in this web-like arrangement. And I got stuck on it going around in circles for a long time when I could have taken a shorter route.
